Fundraiser Keeps Alive Spirit of Cancer Victim

Thiago Perin wanted everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. That's what the 13-year-old told his mother, Liliane Perin, a week before he died from Burkitt's leukemia on June 3, 2006, she said.
The day before, approximately 400 guests gathered at the Perin family's Chesterwoods Drive home for an all-day, carnival-like party thrown in his honor. Though he was too weak to come outside and enjoy it with them, Thiago was happy that his wish to have his friends and family together came true.
