New Emergency System Closer to Reality

The transformation from a patchwork system of local and county centers to a unified countywide police radio and data communications network is progressing, the Morris County freeholders were told this week.

For several years, the county has been erecting new communication towers and replacing county and local emergency radios, while in a parallel project, building a computer-based data network that will eventually provide all county and local law enforcement with access to the same databases and live incident information, even for officers in patrol cars.
